Check-In Times

You may begin checking in 4 hours prior to departure, or when check-in opens, whichever is later.

You must also be at the boarding gate at least 30 minutes prior to departure.

All times local standard time. Passengers cannot check in before station operating hours.

Definitions

Maximum Check-In Time

Passengers cannot check-in at the airport prior to 4 hours before their flight, and cannot check-in at the airport before station operating hours.

Recommended Check-In Time

Due to lengthy TSA security screening check point waiting times, earlier arrivals are recommended. Passenger and baggage processing time may differ from airport to airport. It is the passenger's responsibility to ascertain the departure airport's time requirements for security screening so that the passenger complies with HA minimum time limits.

Minimum Check-In Time

Passengers must be checked in and issued a boarding pass no later than (30 minutes for Neighbor Island / 45 minutes for North America / 60 minutes for International) flights prior to scheduled departure. HA reserves the right to refuse to accept passengers with baggage after these time limits.

Minimum Boarding Gate Time

Passengers must be present at the boarding gate for boarding or on the aircraft at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time of the flight, even if he/she is already checked in for the flight at the designated area for check-in.

Minimum Ticketing Time

Passengers purchasing tickets must do so at least 2 hours prior to scheduled departure otherwise HA may cancel reservations of tickets not yet purchased.
