Age Restrictions

Domestic Flights (Neighbor Island / North America)
Passengers under 5 years old are not allowed to travel without a companion at least 15 years old
Passengers from 5 to 11 years old traveling without a companion at least 15 years old are considered unaccompanied minors and will be subject to service fees and additional requirements
Passengers 12 years old and above may travel unaccompanied
International Flights
Passengers under 12 years old are not allowed to travel without a companion at least 18 years old
Passengers 12 years old and above may travel unaccompanied
Any passengers under 18 years old may require additional documentation, even if traveling with a companion. Please check with your local consulate.

Unaccompanied Minor Rules / Restrictions

Flight Restrictions
For itineraries with connecting flights, all flights must be serviced by Hawaiian Airlines. Unaccompanied minors will not be accepted for trips containing flight connections to other airlines.
Unaccompanied Minors may not travel on flights departing between 9 PM and 5 AM, unless the flight is operating out of Honolulu and is the only flight of the day.
Unaccompanied Minors may not travel on the last connecting flight of the day to their final destination.
Unaccompanied Minors are not accepted on any codeshare flights (flights not operated by Hawaiian Airlines)
Unaccompanied Minors may not travel on flights to/from international destinations or to American Samoa, or which require an overnight stay in order to make a connection.
The maximum ground time between connecting flights for Unaccompanied Minors is two (2) hours.
Fare
Children traveling unaccompanied pay a full adult fare. An additional service charge is collected to cover extra handling required when an unaccompanied child travels. Please confirm this charge when placing your reservation. You must call our Reservations Department upon booking reservations for your child to provide all necessary contact information. Failure to contact our Reservations Department may result in denied boarding of your child.
Dropoff
The unaccompanied minor service charge must be paid at the time of check-in at the airport ticket counter. The adult must fill out forms including contact information for the receiving adult.
Pickup
The parent or guardian must accompany the child to the gate for a departing flight and pick up the child at the gate upon arrival. Please ask a ticket agent for a special pass so that you can accompany or meet your child.
Fee
Neighbor Island Flights: $35 USD one-way, for up to two (2) minors
North America Flights: $100 USD one-way, for up to two (2) minors

Meet and Assist (MAAS)

Meet and Assist Service is available for Domestic (North America / Neighbor Island) flights only, and is not available for International flights. Meet and Assist service may be used for passengers 12 years old and above.
