Did you purchase your ticket from Hawaiian Airlines, but you’re flying on another air carrier? If so, are you wondering whose checked baggage restrictions apply?
In accordance with DOT regulations, the first carrier on your itinerary fees and rules apply throughout. For example, if you’re traveling roundtrip from Honolulu, Hawaii to Austin, Texas, connecting from Hawaiian Airlines to United Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines baggage fees and rules apply to all flights on that ticket.
In the event of a codeshare flight where the first ticketed flight number is indicated as “HA” or “HA*”, then Hawaiian Airlines’ baggage rules and fees will apply.
Beginning 24 hours prior to your scheduled departure until 60 minutes before departure, you may pay for your checked baggage during mobile or web check-in. Or, if you prefer, you may pay for your baggage at the airport kiosk or ticket counter on the day of departure.
