Overview

TAG@HOME will offer guests the convenience of printing their own checked bag tags from home through the current Web Check-In process.  

Hawaiian Airlines will be running a proof of concept "trial" between Aug 6, 2014 - Oct 31, 2014 for guests traveling one-way from:

  • Seattle (SEA) to Honolulu (HNL)
  • Seattle (SEA) to Kahului (OGG)
  • Seattle (SEA) to Kona (KOA)
  • Seattle (SEA) to Lihue (LIH)
  • Oakland (OAK) to Honolulu (HNL)
  • Oakland (OAK) to Kahului (OGG)
  • Oakland (OAK) to Kona (KOA)
  • Oakland (OAK) to Lihue (LIH)

TAG@HOME Process

Guests who opt into printing their checked baggage tags at home will be able to arrive at the airport and check their bags with ease.

Follow the steps below to tag your own checked baggage before you arrive at the airport. Then you simply need to drop it off, and you're on your way!

Step 1: Check-in Online

Click here to Web Check-in.

Follow the step-by-step web check-in instructions. Once you have selected the number of checked baggage you have, you will be presented with the option of printing your baggage tags at home.

Step 2: TAG@HOME Option?

If you would like to print your baggage tags at home, please click the green, "Yes, Print My Bag Tags Now" button.

Step 3: Print Baggage Tags

Please print baggage tags and bring the tags with you to the airport.

 

Your printed baggage tag should look like this:

Step 4: Pick up Your Reusable TAG@HOME Sleeve

At the Airport, locate the reusable TAG@HOME tag stand. The stand will look like this:

Step 5: Insert Baggage Tag into Sleeve

Follow folding instructions located at the bottom of your printed baggage tag and insert it into the sleeve.

Step 6: Attach Your Baggage Tag

Attach your TAG@HOME sleeve with baggage tag to your checked baggage. It should look like this:

Step 7: Drop off Baggage at Bag Drop

Once tagged, please drop off your baggage at the Web Check-In Bag Drop.

A Hawaiian Airlines Airport Customer Service agent will be there to further assist you. Please be prepared to show your boarding pass and proper government identification.


TAG@HOME Bag Tag - Reprint

Printer got jammed? No ink? No problem! You're able to reprint your TAG@HOME bag tags by going through the web check-in process once again.


Frequently Asked Questions

Why are we running this proof of concept?

This is an additional self-service option for those guests who prefer to self service. TAG@HOME adds the convenience of printing all required documents at home rather than at the airport. 

Which airport locations offer this service?

During the 60 day trial period, Hawaiian Airlines is offering this service on the following one-way routes:

  • Seattle (SEA) to Honolulu (HNL)
  • Seattle (SEA) to Kahului (OGG)
  • Seattle (SEA) to Kona (KOA)
  • Seattle (SEA) to Lihue (LIH)
  • Oakland (OAK) to Honolulu (HNL)
  • Oakland (OAK) to Kahului (OGG)
  • Oakland (OAK) to Kona (KOA)
  • Oakland (OAK) to Lihue (LIH)
Will this be offered at other airports in the future?

Yes, if this trial is successful and our guests see the value of this new service, then we will look into offering this option at other airports.

Is there a charge to use this service?

No, you do not need to pay a fee. This service is available to all web check-in guests departing from Seattle (SEA) or Oakland(OAK), at no charge.

Will my bag be handled the same as a regular tagged bag?

Yes, your bag will be transported and tracked in the same manner as a regular tagged bag.

What do I do with the tag/sleeve on my arrival?

Please remove the paper tag from the sleeve and keep the sleeve for future use.
