Qualified US military passengers must check in at HA airport counters in order to benefit from this baggage allowance. Kiosk and web-check in will only permit up to two (2) free bags for military passengers traveling on Military/Government fares.
Travel on Military Orders Active duty US military passengers and their qualified dependents will be allowed four (4) checked bags per person for coach/first/business classes of service free of charge when traveling on orders on HA system-wide travel. Each bag is limited to maximum of 70 lbs. and 80 linear inches. Dependents need not be accompanied by active duty US military family member provided that orders are presented at time of travel. HA representatives should validate that proof of orders has a current (recent) date to qualify for free baggage allowance. On Personal Travel Active duty US military personnel only will be allowed two (2) checked bags per person for coach/ first/business classes of service free of charge when on personal travel. Baggage allowance for military personnel on personal travel is limited to maximum of 50 lbs. and 62 linear inches without charge. Military bag fee waiver will not apply to US military dependents on personal travel. Bags must comply with any other size restrictions as set forth in HA Contract of Carriage. *US active duty military personnel and/or their qualified dependents must present valid military ID at time of check-in to qualify. ***Note: Self-Service Kiosks can process the additional baggage allowances but only via 'Agent Assist' mode. Web check-in will only permit up to 2 free bags for military passengers traveling on MIL/GOV fares. Qualified military passengers may also check in at HA airport ticket counters in order to benefit from this baggage allowance.

Active duty military personnel and/or their qualified dependents must present valid military ID at time of check-in to qualify. Bags are subject to maximum baggage weight of 70 lbs. per piece, and must comply with size restrictions as set forth in HA Contract of Carriage. Baggage in excess of 70 lbs. will not be accepted.

International baggage rules will apply for entire trip, subject to DOT regulations that govern which airline's rules apply on a single ticket, including U.S. domestic segments regardless of stopover, providing the ticket includes at least one ticketed international point.
For reservations connecting with other airlines, the baggage fees and rules of the first marketing carrier applies throughout the itinerary. For example, if you are traveling roundtrip from Honolulu, Hawaii to Austin, Texas, and connecting from Hawaiian Airlines to United Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines baggage fees and rules would apply both ways.
Connections between interline partner carriers must be made between 4 hours and the minimum connection time (varies), else it is considered a stopover and you will need to collect your bags and check back in. If you have a separate confirmation code for a connecting flight, please check in with an airport agent at your point of origin. Beginning June 1, 2012, Hawaiian will not through check bags to other airline flights unless the other airline segments are on the same itinerary for which the passenger is checking in.
Exemptions from bag fees related to frequent flyer status on partner airlines may not apply when checking in on Hawaiian.
