Elite Membership - Qualifications & Benefits

Qualifications

Pualani Platinum
Fly 40,000 miles / 60 segments in a calendar year
Pualani Gold
Fly 20,000 miles / 30 segments in a calendar year

Elite membership is based on Elite-qualifying flight segments and flight miles earned during the calendar year (Jan 1 - Dec 31). Members that qualify will receive full benefits for the remainder of the current year and the following year. Elite-qualifying flight segments and flight mileage are earned based on flights scheduled and operated by Hawaiian Airlines. Segments and miles earned on charter flights, partner airlines, HawaiianMiles partners, bonus miles, or miles earned through the HA MasterCard or HA Visa debit card do not count towards Pualani Elite status. HawaiianMiles are not awarded for travel on Flight Awards and therefore, these segments and miles are not Elite-qualifying.

  • Guaranteed seat5 availability in economy class on Neighbor Island flights when purchased online, up until 72 hours prior to departure. For example, if your flight is departing on January 10th, you'll enjoy guaranteed seat availability up until January 7th.
  • Complimentary Extra Comfort or Preferred Seat4 upgrade on all Hawaiian Airlines-operated North America/International flights for the Pualani Platinum member only (subject to availability)
  • Complimentary First Class seat upgrade on Neighbor Island flights on the day of departure (subject to availability)
  • Complimentary Preferred Seat4 upgrade on Neighbor Island flights for the Pualani Platinum member only (subject to availability)
  • Extra priority when moving up from coach to first class to accommodate oversales in coach

Primary cardholders will receive one (1) complimentary checked bag in addition to their membership baggage allowance when purchasing Domestic or Neighbor Island tickets directly from Hawaiian Airlines using their Hawaiian Airlines World Elite MasterCard.

Cardholders will receive a $100 annual statement credit towards in-flight purchases.  You will be allowed $10 maximum in-flight credit redemption per day for qualified purchases.

3Guests Allowed - Lounge / Priority Boarding
Member is allowed two (2) guests, and they must be traveling on the same flight. Member must present Elite membership card to TSA. First class check-in line is available in Hawaii airports (HNL/ITO/KOA/OGG/LIH). Express security line is available at select airport locations. Premier Club Lounges are available in Honolulu, Hilo, Kona, Kahului, Lihue, and Los Angeles (HNL/ITO/KOA/OGG/LIH/LAX).

4Complimentary Extra Comfort/Preferred Seats Upgrade - Effective August 1, 2014

North America & International Flights

Pualani Platinum and Pualani Gold members can enjoy complimentary seat upgrades to Extra Comfort and Preferred Seats on all Hawaiian Airlines-operated flights to/from North America and International destinations. This benefit is applicable to the Elite member only and is subject to seat availability. Be sure your HawaiianMiles number is present in your reservations, or added prior to completing the check-in process. When checking in for your flight via web/airport kiosk/mobile (24 hours prior to departure), you may add yourself to the standby list for the seat upgrade.

If you opt to be listed while checking in via the web, airport kiosk or mobile application, and already have a seat assignment for your existing Coach ticket, our systems will automatically assign you a seat in Extra Comfort/Preferred Seat.  This seat will be based on a like-for-like seating, subject to seat availability. For example, if you have an existing aisle seat in Coach, our systems will look for an aisle seat within Extra Comfort/Preferred Seat. If one is not available, the system will look for the next best available seat, which may be a window or a middle seat. Seating assignments occur at the departure gate once the check-in window closes. You will be notified by the gate agent if your upgrade is confirmed and you will be issued a new boarding pass. At that time, your original seat assignment is released back into our systems and may be assigned to another guest.

Seat assignments are automatically handled by our systems. Due to seat availability, please be aware that your new seat assignment may be a middle seat in Extra Comfort/Preferred Seat. Once the new upgraded seat is confirmed, we are unable to cancel the request and put you back in your original Coach seat. This may impact your decision to take advantage of the complimentary upgrade, if you have a specific seat type preference or if you are traveling with others in your party and want to be seated together.

You may also visit an airport customer service agent at the check-in counter or at the customer service podium and request to be listed for a complimentary Extra Comfort or Preferred Seat.

Seating will be assigned by priority of status (Pualani Platinum before Pualani Gold), and then on a first-come, first-served basis. Revenue tickets (all Coach fare classes) and flight award tickets are eligible for the complimentary seat upgrade, subject to availability.

Neighbor Island Flights

If a First Class seat upgrade is not available, Pualani Platinum members will be offered a complimentary Preferred Seat on all Hawaiian Airlines-operated flights to the Neighbor Islands. This upgrade is subject to seat availability and applicable to the Elite member only. Be sure your HawaiianMiles number is present in your reservations, or added prior to completing the check-in process. You will be offered the confirmed First Class or Preferred Seat when checking in for your flight via web, kiosk or mobile application 24 hours prior to departure. This benefit is on a first-come, first-served basis. You may also request a seat with an Airport Customer Service agent.

Pualani Gold members may stand-by for a complimentary upgrade to a Preferred Seat on Hawaiian Airlines-operated flights to the Neighbor Islands. This upgrade is subject to seat availability and applicable to the Elite member only. Be sure your HawaiianMiles number is present in your reservations, or added prior to completing the check-in process. When checking in for your flight, you may add yourself to the standby list for the seat upgrade with an airport customer service agent. Seating will be assigned by priority of status (Pualani Platinum before Pualani Gold), and then on a first-come, first-served basis.

Revenue tickets (all Coach revenue fares) and flight award tickets are eligible for the complimentary seat upgrade, subject to seat availability.

Replacement Membership Card

Members may request a replacement membership card for a $10 USD replacement fee. Purchase may be done at by calling the HawaiianMiles Service Center at 1-877-426-4537.  Please provide your HawaiianMiles account number.

Terms & Conditions

Lost, stolen, or damaged cards may be replaced for a fee. Members requiring a name change may purchase a replacement card and/or tag for a fee and are subject to the Terms and Conditions of the HawaiianMiles program. Hawaiian Airlines is not responsible for any correspondence lost or damaged in the mail.

Luggage Tags

Each member will receive a membership card and two free personalized luggage tags.

Purchase may be done by calling the HawaiianMiles Service Center at 1-877-426-4537.  Please provide your HawaiianMiles account number.

Status Activation / Expiration

Elite Membership activation occurs within approximately 48 hours after the miles are posted to the account. Elite status is valid for the remainder of the current year and the following year. In the situation where Elite qualification occurs on December 31st, then the Elite status will only be valid for the following year.
